This book is written for the six year undergraduate international medical students of Capital Medical University for their professional education in medical colleges. It will also be of assistance to medical doctors preparing for postgraduate examinations and be helpful to general practitioners. The primary goal of this textbook is to create a concise text on current radiologic imaging for medical students not speaalizing in radiology. We hope that this book will help for medical students and residents not specializing in radiology better comprehend the basics of each imaging technique and aid them in selecting and requesting the most appropriate imaging modality for each patients presenting symptoms. The textbook consists of overview and general prinaples of medical imaging, repiratory system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, urinary system, breast and reproductive system, musculoskeletal system, central nervous system, pediatric radiology, and interventional radiology. According the length limitations of the textbook, we only focus on the most important features of the basic diseases. Each chapter briefly describes recent developments in the radiologic imaging of different systems, followed by a description of the normal anatomy and a discussion of the most appropriate and rational imaging techniques for evaluating each organ and system. All chapters end with questions to enhance and reinforce the prinaples of each chapter. The contributors are from seven affiliated hospitals of Capital Medical University, which are Xuan Wu Hospital, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital, Beijing Tong Ren Hospital, Beijing An Zhen Hospital, Beijing Tian Tan Hospital and Beijing Children's Hospital. We thank all of our authors who have contributed their profound knowledge and rich experiences in radiology in writing this book, despite their heavy day-to-day workload in the hospital. We sincerely welcome our readers' comments on the book.
