本教材由專業(yè)基礎(chǔ)篇、專業(yè)篇及附錄等三部分組成。專業(yè)基礎(chǔ)篇五課共10篇文章，其中包括：機(jī)械電子學(xué)，聯(lián)軸器、鍵、軸和彈簧，金屬學(xué)熱處理等方面的內(nèi)容；專業(yè)篇十五課共30篇文章，其中包括：金屬切削機(jī)床、金屬切削原理與刀具、機(jī)床的液壓傳動(dòng)、機(jī)床夾具、計(jì)算機(jī)輔助設(shè)計(jì)與制造、電氣元件、數(shù)控機(jī)床與編程、機(jī)床的控制元件與PLC、計(jì)算機(jī)集成制造系統(tǒng)、機(jī)電產(chǎn)品說明書、談判、合同等內(nèi)容；附錄包括：科技英語的特點(diǎn)、英語應(yīng)用文的特點(diǎn)、英漢科技翻譯基礎(chǔ)知識(shí)、總詞匯表、參考譯文等，供學(xué)生和專業(yè)技術(shù)人員進(jìn)行本課程學(xué)習(xí)、機(jī)電類專業(yè)資料學(xué)習(xí)和翻譯時(shí)參考。全書共二十課40篇文章。為了擴(kuò)大學(xué)生專業(yè)英語閱讀量，了解更多的專業(yè)詞匯，每課除一篇課文之外，還有一篇與課文內(nèi)容相關(guān)的閱讀材料。
