second section discusses Duffy's exposure of colonialism and militarism as a call for equality and peace. The third section is about Duffy's sympathy for those people underprivileged in class and age, as a call for equality among people from different social classes and at different ages. The fourth section discusses Duffy's sympathy for nature, which has been over-exploited to the edge of destruction, but marginalized and silenced by human beings. These poems warn people of their responsibility to protect, respect and love nature instead of making abusive use of it. The fifth section discusses Duffy's criticism of speciesism, in which animals have been hunted, killed, eaten or trained to make profit until death for human beings, but can not speak about their misery. As eco-feminism considers all kinds of oppression as issues for feminists, this chapter, together with the analysis of Duffy's concern of the oppression of man over woman, proves that Duffy is of eco-feminist consciousness.
Chapter Four will mainly focus on Duffy's writing art from the feminist point of view by analyzing her use of dramatic monologue, postmodern feminist parody and her use of language for feminist ends. This chapter mainly serves as a generalization of the most important features found in her writing.
Based on the analysis in the four chapters, the book will sum up the main findings in the Conclusion. First of all, it is found that Duffy has been influenced by the second wave feminist activists, being able to find patriarchy as the cause for women's oppression, to find ways in wliich women subvert patriarchy, and realize the complexity of the relationship between men and women. Secondly, as a lesbian, a mother, and a daughter, Duffy is able to discover women's identity in lesbians, mothers, and mother-daughter relationships. Thirdly, Duffy has shown eco-feminist awareness in her poetry.
